November TSK- Camille - Layout and Process Video (with Sophie)

Hi everyone, long time, no see! (Or so it feels). Today I have a layout that I created using Camille, the November Scrappery Kit. Initially I wasn't a fan of the colour combination that is used in the new Amy Tan collection but I'm really happy with how the layout came together.

I sprayed the wood veneers, the chipboard frame and 'awesome' from the BPK, with some Mister Huey's mist. The colour works really well in bringing the entire layout together.

I created my quote/title using these alphas which are available in the store. 'Always' I cut from one of the ephemera pieces. But if you wanted to used that piece on another project there is also an 'always' in the rub-on pack.

I am in LOVE with the Amy Tan rub-ons that came in the kit. The watercolour circles are my favourite. They're great if you want to add some watercolour to your page but don't want to create I mess.

For more info on how I created this layout check out the process video below. And count how many times I say 'um'! Haha

Thanks for stopping by today.
Happy Scrapping!

November PLK - Willow & November BPK - Vincent - Week 37

Hello!!! It's Charmane here to share with you my Project Life with you this time!

I had a play with the November PLK Willow & also a few bits from BPK Vincent - I had the perfect event to use the kits with - my cousin Janine's wedding!

The colours were so pretty and perfect for this spread, I love the woodgrains in the PL cards and the natural wood veneer and kraft thickers were a perfect combination - especially with the touches of GOLD embellishments from the PLK!

I must admit, I usually overload my PL layouts too much with my photos, so I am really trying to cut down and use JUST my favourites, because I really want to show off the beautiful cards and embellishments that are in these wonderful kits!

What I've loved in the kits as well are the vellum pieces... and I had the idea to have a little experiment with stamping using the gorgeous stamps from the BPK Vincent kit and gold embossing powder.

Using VersaMark Watermark Ink, I have stamped onto Vellum, covered with embossing powder, shook off the excess and then have used a heat gun quickly melting to create the embossed gold look.

and WOW! I am stoked how they turned out...  I've tucked the banner behind the heart, partially overlapping the photo, stapling it to keep it in place - too easy!

And the *LOVE* Heart embossed here - love the gold!

and a close up of the 6x4 PL card... I teamed it with the gorgeous vellum in the PLK - along with the *awesome* wood veneer word from the BPK.

I also loved the idea of journalling on just one of the PL cards this time around, instead of journalling on MOST of the cards, something I usually do...

Here's the Right Side of the spread - here I've balanced out the page by combining the floral Project Life cards with the black and white wood grains and florals, along with the touch of pinks and greys in the other cards.

After a lot of juggling around I think they have balanced nicely along with the Wood Veneers, cute tags & kraft thickers and vellum ephemera.

I hope I've inspired to have you a play with your Project Life or even get those stamps & vellum out and create your own Vellum embellishments!

Happy Creating!

XO Charm

November PLK - Willow - Honeymoon PL (by Adele)

Hello hello everyone!

So happy to be part of The Scrappery Creative Team and able to share my Project Life with you all.

I fell in love with Willow the PLK for November as soon as I saw the sneak peek! I had my eye on the new Maggie Holmes Open Book collection for Crate Paper so I was very pleased to see the included embellishments! I also added some bits and pieces from both TSK Willow and the BPK Vincent.

As an admitted embellishment junkie, I was eager to include lots of the Maggie Holmes embellishments, including both the layered and ribbon tags and vellum embellishments from the PLK. I also scattered various pieces from the Amy Tangerine Stitched ephemera line from TSK.

I label my title cards using the month and dates for that week, usually with thickers or alphas. I was so happy with the thickers from the Stitched collection, they gave a nice neutral feel to the title card and the tone matched perfectly with the Freckled Fawn wood veneer faces too.

My favourite card from the spread is this cute exclusive grey polkadot PL card which I decorated with an Open Book vellum script and notebook page and Stitched floral embellishment, as well as a scattering of Freckled Fawn enamel dots...which are never far from one of my PL cards!

For my next card, I pulled a PL bi-fold card from my stash to hide some journaling and an extra photo. I attached the card straight to the top of the age protector with my glue tape and closed it with a Freckled Fawn wood veneer face.

I decided to include an insert this week (surprise, surprise!).

I used a few of these gorgeous Freckled Fawn Wood Words from the Vincent BPK and simply fastened them to my cards with my Tiny Attacher stapler.

By including a Heidi Swapp Panoramic Page Protector, I was able to utilise the space in this week’s layout and include even more photos! I love the concept of an interactive element in my PL!

When I first saw these Heidi Swapp Colour Magic Numbers – I admit – I was a bit hesitant to use them…I’m not an experienced mixed media gal and was unsure how to best use them in my spread. But, alas I decided to bite the bullet and experiment….AND IT WORKED! YAY! I simply used my Stazon Black ink to lightly rub over the raised surface and hey presto, the number looks so much more effective! I attached it to a Studio Calico gold overlay from my stash and a cut off from the Stitched Heart Felt paper (from TSK) using foam adhesive and stapled an Open Book vellum script on the back.

And there you have it! My first PL post for The Scrappery!
I thoroughly enjoyed using PLK Willow (and TSK Camille and BPK Vincent too) and still have enough goodies left over for a couple more spreads – yay!
Check out my process video for a closer look at the embellishments and techniques I used.

PEEK PARTY POST

Hey guys, Nae here and I am first and foremost, so sorry for being away from the blog and a lot of scrappery socialising. It has been really tough trying to run this busy business by myself. Anyone that runs a small business alone is a super human. I am really trying to shape up scrappery to be the best scrapbook and kit club in Australia with the hopes of one day being up there with our American competitors.

For now though, I would love to give you a quick rehash of what went down tonight at our monthly CYBER CROP and PEEK PARTY. We had a great night tonight with a heap of previews, challenges and also our brand new CHAT feature. This enables all members and participants a chance to interact with each other and Scrappery Team Members. We are so excited about this new feature, bringing back the spirit of the old cybercrops that use to be on old scrapbook forums.

First I will show you the three names for our December kits. There is a boy, a girl and a christmas name. Try and see if you can figure out which name goes with which kit.
 photo CLARATSK_zps90d88071.jpg
This meaning of Clara is from Wikipedia: Clara or Klara is a female given name. It is the feminine form of the Late Latin name Clarus which meant "clear, bright, famous".
 photo noellebpk_zpsbc9dfb6c.jpg
This meaning of Noelle is from Wikipedia: Noelle is a feminine given name. It is an English form of the French name Noëlle, which is a feminine form of the name Noël meaning "Christmas" in French.
 photo leonardo_zpse7a3312c.jpg
This meaning of Leonardo is from Wikipedia: The name has come to mean "lion strength", "lion-strong", or "lion-hearted". It may also be from the Latin Leo ("lion").

Now onto the colour combos for this month. We have a few similarities with last month, I wonder if that gives you any ideas? Also a really nice festive christmas palette as well. I love putting together these pretty little peeks for you guys and I hope you enjoy feasting over what colours you will get to play with each month. Here they are:

 photo PLKPEEKNOV_zpsaf4a4a27.jpg

I just love these artistic, bright and bold colours. They are so bright and graphic and just stand out so brightly by themselves and as individual colours. They remind me of a very popular new collection that has just been released? Which one do you think that is?

 photo BPKCOLOURNOV_zpsbbd24938.jpg

And here it is, our christmas theme. Kayla and I aren't real fans of the traditional red white and green, but when it comes to products, this year we really didn't have a choice for a kit. In the end, with the products I have collected, these colours just seem to work for me. What products do you think will be in this kit? What kit do you think it will be for?

 photo TSKPEEKNOV_zpsf1ec5ec3.jpg

Here is another very familiar colour palette. I just love these bright fresh spring colours. Even in the ever increasing heat of summer (even though its not technically summer yet), its nice to have a spring colour palette to cool down and relax with while you scrap. This is also another favourite scrapbook collection we have used before, which one could it be?

Last but not least we have the product peeks for you to drool over. The photos just keep getting better. I love this months peeks and I hope you do too.

 photo bpkpeek_zpscc3540a3.jpg

Here is our Christmas Peek for the night. It is the traditional red white and green but also updated with bold black lines and the ever purposeful kraft. I just love these cute printed tags and those candy striped enamel dots are to die for.

 photo PLKPEEK_zps3cc3f237.jpg

One of the wonderful beautiful things with the Amy Tan "Stitched" Collection are the kraft elements printed in white. In this kit we have a whole heap of white printed kraft pieces, with beautiful gold foil stickers and adorable wood veneer labels.

 photo tskpeek_zps47870e6a.jpg

One can never have enough flowers and these beautiful printed flower motifs from the "Open Book" collection are just adorable. They are the perfect collection of cardstock, vellum, foiled and glittered leaves and flowers for all embellishing, for traditional and Project Life style scrapbooking. We also have some cute little Freckled Fawn resin flowers too! To complete the collection.

And there you have it, all of our peeks for the night. Only 10 days til release and I cant wait to share it all with you. Tomorrow I will post up our Cyber Crop challenges for you. If you would like to participate you will just have to pop over to our facebook page to check it all out!

Until tomorrow guys,
Love you,

MEET CHARM AND ADELE!!!

Hey guys, so after a lot of searching and pondering and sometimes a little discussion, we finally came to find our two newest CT members for The Scrappery! Charm Koch - PLK CT

 photo Charm2_1024x1024_zps3d1c2e6c.jpg

Hello! My name is Charmane {aka CHARM} and I live with my partner & 3 gorgeous kids in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia – where I can enjoy the country life {I have koalas & kangaroos regularly visiting!} & the city life, living only 20 minutes away from Adelaide City Centre.

I am a Work-At-Home Mum & I love to MAKE things! Whether it be my first passion of scrapbooking or documenting the everyday with Project Life, or maybe dabbling in a bit of card-making or crafting with my kids – I love to MAKE stuff! I also enjoy making my own handmade embellishments & another passion is baking & cooking – I LOVE FOOD! {and so does my family of course!} As you can tell I’m all about MAKING stuff!

I hope to inspire you with my different ideas and style, helping you to be creative in your own unique way! I love to play with new and different products and that is what I LOVE about The Scrappery Kits – not only are they fresh and funky, but Nae & Kayla know how to put them together in a way that makes it easy to create with.

Adele Toomey - PLK CT

 photo adele_zpse8b48458.png

Hello hello! My name is Adele and I am a paper-holic.

Yes, it may have taken years for me to admit it…but alas it is true. I am a primary school teacher by day and often use the excuse “Oh, but I need it for work!” to justify my paper purchases. I am 25 years old and married my soulmate last year. I am hoping to create an epic pocketed scrapbook style wedding album in the next few months.

I have been recording memories and scrapbooking since high school but have embraced Project Life style scrapbooking for the last 2 years. I scrap weekly and use multiple inserts for each week due to the large amount of photos I take. I am currently on my fourth 2014 volume and hope to make it last until the end of December! I love recording the simple moments in life, as well as the fun social times. As PL is my only means of photo-keeping, I tend to include as many important moments as possible through photos to remember life in years to come. I am an embellishing queen and cannot deem a layout complete without an embellishment cluster…or two…or three!

My future goals for my PL are to experiment with a December Daily album this year, as well as trying to journal more often. I am also keen to include other memories in my PL other than photos, such as brochures, postcards from friends, social media snippets and look forward to finding creative ways to embed these in my weekly stories.

So there you have it guys, our two new Creative Team Members, be sure to say hi and check out all their amazing and inspiring work over the months to come!!!

Love, love

October TSK - Olivia - Me and My Bro (with Sophie)

Hi there! I hope you are all well!
Today I created another layout for you using Olivia. This one has a completely different feel to the previous page I created using this gorgeous kit.

My layout incorporates colours from the Teresa Collin floral pattern paper in the kit. The black, gold and beige coloured pieces in the kit went really well this palette.
But to incorporate some more colour onto my page I delved into my own stash and found some PL cards from the Maggie Holmes Flea Market collection. They complemented my layout perfectly proving this kit is extremely versatile and can work well with your existing collection of papers and embellishments.
I really love how these two cards bought the layout together.
The design for this layout was inspired by an image I saw on Pinterest. I really wanted to try out a different page layout rather than my default style. Definitely think I'll use this sketch again!
To create my background I used the same technique I used on my layout here. I mixed some of the mint Heidi Swapp Colour Shine with some modelling paste and applied it over the stencil available in the Bits and Pieces Kit. I love this stencil! It is definitely becoming one of my favourites.

I also added some paper flowers from my stash to complement the flower image I cut out of the floral patterned paper.

I hope this layout has inspired you to open your kit (if you haven't already) and start creating.

Until next time, happy scrapping!
Sophie

October TSK - Olivia - Cards (by Sophie)

Hi guys! It's Sophie here again, back to share with you some cards I created using Olivia, and maybe a hint of Taylor too.

The kit has so many products that are perfect to use on cards or even to create a mini album. The America Crafts ephemera pieces are especially great for this. They look great in a cluster which look awesome on cards or album pages.
Also, the small tags were screaming at me to use them on cards. The phrases are perfect for cards and I really wanted to show you guys a way to use them. Because they are SO lovely.

I used some of the Heidi Swapp Colour Shine to add some splatters to my cards. (Surprise, surprise).
For this first card I went for a boy theme. I used gold, mint and black products from the kits. I love this colour scheme and it works especially well on 'new baby boy' projects. You can absolutely use this kit to create masculine layouts. It's all about choosing the right products.

Sequins are great to add something a little extra to your project. Olivia came with a gorgeous assortment of gold and pastel sequins and as you can tell I am in love with them.
Here I took my paintbrush and some Colour Shine and added some strokes to the side of the card.

Thanks for stopping by today! Are you excited for the upcoming release?
I'll be back soon with another layout.
Sophie
