BPK - ELSA- Res Ball

Hi again everyone. I am back today to share a layout I created using the Bits and Pieces Kit, Elsa. I used it along with Jericho and a few products of my own to show you how easy it can be to use the BPK with your current stash.

As soon as I saw this kit I knew what photos I wanted to use with the products. Is it a bit weird that the photos hadn't even been taken yet? My dress and accessories I had picked out for the Res Ball had an 'Elsa' vibe (both the princess and the kit), a light blue/mint dress, white shoes and silver earrings and even though I event was still approaching I knew the photos from the Ball would look lovely with Elsa.
If you saw my previous video I used the Studio Calico Mistable stars as a mask and I've also done that here. I then took the stars I misted and arranged them in the white space to create a positive/negative effect.
I really love how this turned out and the silver mist looks so good in the light.
I used a couple of papers from Jericho and a couple of Dear Lizzy PL cards from my own stash behind my photos.  As well as a doily from Elsa and of course a piece of vellum I had on hand.
I also added some of the silver thread which came with Elsa and grouped it with a couple of paper flowers for a feminine touch.
The bicycle transparency piece is actually from the Pink Paislee Ephemera pack in the Jericho kit. It is actually gold but when flipped around it is a silver colour, which complemented my layout perfectly.

The gorgeous butterfly above is also from the kit and is super pretty and sparkly.
Below you can also see I have added some geometric, white rub-ons which are from the Jericho kit. They transfer so easy. So much better than other rub-ons.
Under my title is two vellum pieces. The number is '9' is a piece from the kit. Of course I added some enamel dots from the Jericho to finish of my layout.

So as you can see the Bit and Pieces Kit complements your current stash or any of the other kits perfectly. And you get so much value for money, definitely worth the investment.

Thanks for stopping by the blog. Are you guys excited for the reveal tomorrow? I know I am.

TSK- Jericho- 365 DAYS

Hi there everyone. It's Sophie here with my very first share here at The Scrappery. This month I had the honour of playing with Jericho, The Scrappery Kit for September.
Here is what I created using the gorgeous range of papers and embellishments. The colour scheme I thought was perfect for scrapbooking older photos from my childhood. The muted primary colours and hint of navy seem to complement the look and feel of these photos really well. Playful with a hint of retro.

This kit is actually very gender neutral. Although I still added some pink to my background with some mists and Gelatos to give it a more feminine touch. If you prefer a more masculine colour scheme just substitute the pink background for blues and greens. The mulit-coloured patterned papers are great to use because you have a variety of colours to choose from for your accent/background colour.
My favourite products in the kit are these gorgeous glitter pieces in the Pink Paislee ephemera pack. There are so many cute little pieces that compliment the selection of papers so well.
I also used some of the Studio Calico Mistable Stars, from the Elsa kit, as a mask.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today. If you want to know how I created this layout I have a PROCESS VIDEO COMING SOON. So stay tuned for that!

Bye, Sophie!

MEET SOPHIE

So, its time that we reveal a little secret we have been dying to tell you about. At The Scrappery, we really want to provide you with as many inspiring layouts as we can. So we would love to introduce you to the first of our Creative Team Members.

Her name is Sophie Koschmann and she is a fabulously creative soul and a 2014 Scrapbooking Memories Master!!! We just love her artsy style. They are full of wonderful colour and shape and we know that her layouts (along with our beautiful kits) will keep you in awe and hopefully her layouts will teach you some new techniques.

Here is a little bio Sophie wrote herself to let you all know a little more about her.

Hi there fellow scrappers. My name is Sophie Koschmann and I am super excited to be joining Kayla and Nae on the Creative Team at the Scrappery.

I live on a farm in country Victoria with my mum, dad and younger brother. When I am not there however I am living in Bendigo where I am half way through a Bachelor in Graphic Design. I am a serious all-round crafter, DIYer and Pinterest lover. I am also a keen dancer and performer and am currently rehearsing for Chicago here is Bendigo.

I began scrapbooking when I was 10 years old, which is almost 10 years ago now. (Half my life? What?!). I don't remember what inspired me to start but I do remember creating my first layout. My mum booked me into a class our local scrapbooking store. One of my biggest achievements in this time was being named a 2014 Scrapbooking Memories Master. I am also currently on the design team at the Show Us Your Stuff challenge blog that I joined about 3-4 years ago when I started up my blog (which is feeling a bit neglected at the moment).

I am a 12 x 12 scrapbooker and often combine elements of mixed media like texture paste, mist and paints on my layouts. I love to contrast bright colours against white card stock to create a modern, stylish feel. I scrap about everyday and major events but especially love to feature my photography and portraits of myself, my friends and my younger cousins on my layouts. My style has definitely evolved over the years, as techniques and products have, but would say it is now eclectic and fresh. I don’t know, you’re probably a better judge than I am.

I can’t wait to play with Kayla and Nae’s gorgeous kits and I hope my layouts and videos will inspire you to use up every last bit of their goodness.

So I hope you guys have enjoyed getting to know our first CT Member. Please make her feel welcome on the facebook groups and the subscriber suite. We can wait to see what she creates with the TSK - Jericho and the BPK - Elsa. Be sure that it will all be featured on the blog right here.

Thanks for checking in again guys,
Love you all xoxo

August Cyber Crop Winners

So the weeks and the months are just flying past us now. The Scrappery has just released our THIRD kit and we are super excited with the direction our cute little kit club is going. We have some exciting news to announce over the next couple of days so be sure to stay tuned so that you don't miss out on all the amazing kit releases, videos and announcements.

I thought today I would post a little about the recent Cyber Crop we had for August. Once again we had three amazing challenges and the participants have grown in numbers. It was amazing to see a whole new group of scrappers work towards earning points to receive their free kits.

Please check out the gallery of all entries, they are all featured in our PINTEREST GALLERY.

So the first challenge we had in the Cyber Crop was a mood board challenge. The mood board was an arrangement of bold colour and shape, inspiring quotes and techniques. Here is the mood board I created and the challengers had to use to inspire their layouts.

The winner for the Mood Board challenge was the always beautiful Peg Hewitt. She is a long time friend of mine and I just absolutely love her style and layouts. I love how she had used the darker colours in this board but her photos really lend themselves to the yellow colours in the board as well. She also used the quote on the woodgrain panel. Many decided to use this quote and I love it! I may even consider making a PL card with the quote. Time will tell. For now enjoy Peg's fabulous layout and don't forget to check out her blog and the other layouts in the pinterest gallery.

TIMES ARE HARD FOR DREAMERS

Our next cybercrop challenge was our ever popular sketch challenge. I love these challenges and it seems a lot of you do too. Here is the sketch that we all had to work with this month.

 photo 10570533_684811281593615_5899089829382438296_n_zps89e8be13.jpg

I love the collection of doilies and arrows and the layers as well. Circles are always a challenge for me so I tried so hard to make my layout fit exactly with the sketch. Enough about my layout though (you will see that later in another blog and process video). The winner of the sketch challenge was the beautiful Karen Jarman.

TIME TO BE HAPPY
Karen Jarman

Now I am the first to admit, I am not a fan of green and gold but this layout just does it for me!! I love this layout and its green paint and black stamping and distressing. The gold just lifts everything off the page. All of this just works with the photo effortlessly. Great job Karen and thank you for entering.

The final challenge we had this month was a little different. To celebrate the peek of our new BPK (embellishment kit) Elsa, challengers had to Use the four letters from the name Elsa and use those letters for first letter of scrapbook products to use on your layouts. I had seen these challenges before but never really participated. Apparently you guys loved this challenge as we had so many entries. It was so hard to choose a winner but eventually we chose the beautiful Rachel Dutko.

LOVE
Rachel Dutko

Really loving this page. Rachel used E - enamel dots, L - "love", S - stars and spray inks and A - arrows. I just love how she has clustered embellishments and given the edges that little bit of colour. Looks distressed, like aging painted wood and I love it!! Congrats Rachel.

So at this stage you are all probably wondering what points you are on to earn your kits. Here is the updated table for August. We will start incorporating more incentives to help you earn your points soon so stay tuned for that.
